What You Need to File
Contact the Carol Stream Village Clerk's Office at (630) 665-7050 or visit Village Hall at 500 N. Gary Ave. to pick up a petition packet. Packets are typically available starting late July 2026.
Collect voter signatures from registered Carol Stream voters starting approximately late July 2026 — not before. The exact number required for 2027 will be listed in your packet (based on 5% of votes cast at the last at-large Carol Stream election). Call the Village Clerk to confirm the count.
File a Statement of Economic Interests with the DuPage County Clerk (421 N. County Farm Rd., Wheaton | 630-407-5500) before or by the filing deadline. Bring the receipt to Village Hall when you submit your papers — a missing receipt is a disqualifying defect.
Submit your completed nomination papers — petition sheets, Statement of Candidacy (sworn and notarized), and SEI receipt — to the Carol Stream Village Clerk by approximately October 26, 2026 (exact date TBD).
Register a political committee with the Illinois State Board of Elections if you raise or spend more than $5,000.
