Skokie is a home rule municipality (population ~67,000). In 2025, Skokie restructured its Village Board from a fully at-large model to a hybrid district/at-large system.

As of 2025, Skokie's Village Board consists of a Village President (Mayor, elected at-large) + 4 District Trustees (one per district) + 2 At-Large Trustees. If running for a District Trustee seat, you must live within the district you want to represent. At-Large Trustees are elected village-wide. Confirm the current seat map and which seats are up in 2027 with the Village Clerk — this restructuring is recent.
